Pyrolysis Test

Pyrolysis Test

The Pyrolysis Test consists of  the combustion of a belt sample at 810ºC.  The gases produced are collected and analysed to make sure that they are free from NITROGEN (N), SULPHUR (S) and HALOGENS – Chlorine (Cl), Fluoride (F).  Our belts in the VERNA (polyolefin) and POLER (thermo-polyester) series,  recommended for use in the tobacco industry, pass this test carried out by the Hygiene-Institut in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The use of Polyurethane and PVC belts were questioned by the tobacco industry as they do not pass the Pyrolysis Test.
